Own the city.
Move through your streets on foot or by bike. Close a loop and the ground inside becomes yours — until someone takes it back.
Move. Claim. Defend. Or lose it.
Five stages, and the last one is the point — the map is different every time you come back.
Move
Run, walk or ride through your city. Your route is traced exactly as you took it.
Claim
Close the loop within 50 m of where you started and everything inside becomes yours.
Defend
Run your own ground again and it hardens, up to five levels. Fortified ground absorbs an attack instead of falling.
Conquer
Move through someone else's ground. If their defences are spent, it becomes yours.
Return
Ground left alone weakens every week. The map you left is not the map you come back to.
Three modes. One map.
Pick a mode to see what actually happens on the phone.
Close the loop. Own what's inside.
Finish within 50 m of where you started and everything the loop encircles is claimed in your colour. Run it again and it hardens. Leave it and it weakens.
You can read the map at a glance.
Every plot shows its own state — who holds it, how hard it is to take, and whether it is slipping.
Unclaimed
Nobody has closed a loop here yet. First one to do it takes it.
Claimed
Freshly taken. Held, but not yet hardened.
Fortified
Run again and again, up to five levels. The heavier the border, the harder it falls.
Weakening
Untouched for a week or more. Defences dropping, and rivals can see it.
Who owns your city?
Ranked by ground held, not kilometres run. Four ways to look at it — and each activity has its own board, so cyclists never overshadow walkers.
Everyone, everywhere. The long game.
The one that actually matters. Your city, your rivals, people you might pass in the street.
A clean slate on a fixed clock. Being early counts for nothing when it resets.
Every metre you hold adds to your club's total, and a club streak that breaks if nobody runs.
A real training tool underneath.
Three modes. Conquest claims ground. Convoy is for moving as a group — the road you cover together is claimed, and afterwards you see who spent longest on the front. Training is pure athletics, with a higher speed ceiling so a sprint is never mistaken for cheating.
Plan before you go
Draw a route on the map and Scorch tells you how much ground it would claim — before you set off. No other app can, because no other app measures territory this way.
Move as a group
Open a group, read out the code, and anyone within 300 m can join. Afterwards: who spent longest on the front, how well the group held together, and the road you took.
Doesn't lose your run
Auto-pause, crash recovery and an offline queue. Losing 45 minutes of effort is the worst thing a tracker can do.
We record where you run. Here's exactly what happens to it.
- Location is recorded only while a session you started is running. Never in the background otherwise.
- Loops start at your front door — so you can blank out a circle around home. Others see your territory with that area cut out; your own map and your standings total stay untouched.
- Body metrics never leave your phone. Height, weight and age are not uploaded.
- Nothing is sold. No advertising, no tracking across other apps.
- Cosmetics are status only. Nothing purchasable affects gameplay, and it never will.
Your city is still unclaimed.
That changes the week Scorch opens where you live. Whoever runs it first, holds it.
Get in early.
A territory game is only fun where players are dense, so we open one city at a time. Tell us yours — the cities with the most people waiting go first.
